Super Amarone. Red. RESERVE NOW!

Italian Style Super Amarone.

A subtle twist on our most popular Wine Butler Wine.

Amarone wine or as it’s officially named, Amarone della Valpolicella, is one of those wines that you buy on a special occasion and sip slowly….. It’s one of those wines that makes you inhale and relax when you smell it… No, Amarone della Valpolicella is not cheap, but it shouldn’t be, it’s just too difficult to make–and too scarce.

On the palate Amarone wines often have medium-plus to high acidity balanced with high alcohol and flavors of black cherry, brown sugar and chocolate. By the way, the older the wine the more it will offer flavors of brown sugar, molasses and fig.

How does it differ from your existing Amarone ? Expect bold aromas of cherry liqueur, black fig, carob, cinnamon and plum sauce along with subtle notes of green peppercorn, chocolate.

Baco Noir. Red. RESERVE NOW

French Style Baco Noir

Tasting Notes: cherries, raspberry, coffee, leather, licorice, cedar and smoke with high acidity and moderate intensity tannins.

Baco Noir

Sometimes described as a meatier Pinot Noir with all of that grape’s ripe cherry and tart raspberry flavours but even more depth, Baco Noir is renowned for its dark fruit, full body, herbal notes and soft, smoky tannins. The contemporary style emphasizes careful management in the vineyard and the balanced use of oak in the winemaking process to create lush, round, full-flavoured wines that are exactly in keeping with the modern palate.

A Brief History of Baco

First bred in France at the turn of the 20th century by François Baco — hence the name — Baco Noir is a cross between Folle Blanche and a native North American Vitis Riparia grape variety. Known for its resilient, hearty character and ability to withstand harsh cold, Baco was planted in Burgundy and the Loire Valley shortly after its discovery and made its way back to the northeastern U.S. and Canada in the 1950s. Today, it’s grown everywhere from Nova Scotia to Colorado, but in Ontario, it’s one of the most widely planted grapes, and is renowned for its quality.

Pink Pinot Grigio. RESERVE NOW

California Style Pink Pinot Grigio

Pink Pinot Grigio   Pinot grigio grapes are a pale coppery pink colour.

When crushed, an extended period of skin contact gives the wine a pale salmon pink colour. Expect fragrant apple, pear, floral and tropical fruit aromas.

On the palate the wine is crisp and light-bodied, with strawberry and rhubarb flavours.   Its palate is full of tart apple, peach and raspberry flavours, making it the perfect summer tipple.  We recommend serving this chilled or even over ice.

With a dash of cream soda it becomes a uniquely refreshing take on the standard spritzer with indulgent, velvety sparkle and fruity upper notes. Sweeten to your taste, and if its sweet,  so you could throw in some raspberries and have it with dessert. If you want a cocktail with bite, mix it with Absolut Raspberry and serve over ice.

Food-wise, this goes great with seafood and salads. Tomatoes, watermelon and Stilton would all make a good match and bring out the best in the wine.
