Irish Whiskey Cream Sauce


  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Irish whiskey
  • 3/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons dried chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


  1. In the same skillet, add the butter, allow to melt; then add the flour and stir forming a roux.
  2. Deglaze the pan with the Irish Whiskey; then add the broth, heavy cream, chives, salt and pepper. Mix and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Use on chicken, steak, salmon, or pasta.
