Why Make Your Own Wine?

Most people make their own wine  to save money and some for the craft aspect of it. But everyone agrees the wine is as good as or exceeds that which can be purchased at retail. Best reasons to indulge in the largely Canadian phenomenon of craft wine making? Quality that rivals commercial wines. Craft wine is made with specially blended wine kits that contain juice and concentrates of grapes from the parent company of notable leading wineries in the world (including Canada)
Sandhill, Trius Winery at Hillebrand, Wayne Gretzky Estates, Red Rooster Winery, Calona, Vineyards, and Thirty Bench Wine Makers.

Bottle your own wine is a 400 million dollar industry in Ontario. Making your own handcrafted wine is easy, fun, and affordable. Choose your wine and book your first appointment. It’s as simple as that! The process at the Wine Butler is simple and rewarding. It comes down to three easy steps and no experience is necessary.

1.) Choose Your Wine

With over 40 wines to choose from, you’re sure to find one that you’ll love. Each batch makes 28-30 bottles, and the price you see includes all the material, labels, corks, and seals. Bottles $1 each or bring your own.

2.) Make Your Wine

Because you participate in certain aspects of the winemaking process: yeasting, bottling, and labelling to name a few (no experience necessary) – you avoid the massive taxes and mark up you’d pay at retail. Technically you are buying produce from us… Grape juice!

3.) Bottle Your Wine

Six to ten weeks after you make wine, we will contact you to let you know your wine is ready to bottle. Bring your own bottles for sterilization, or purchase new ones from us ($1/bottle). This visit takes about 30 minutes. The bottling atmosphere is so laid-back; it really makes for an enjoyable experience. You can even test your wine while you bottle!
