Chateau d’Yquem. $117, 000 Per Bottle
From 1811 – this “new” bottle of Chateau d’Yquem—a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc—became the most expensive white wine in history. And the crazy thing is, it actually is drinkable. Though, obviously, it will not be consumed. The man who bought it, Christian Vanneque, plans to display it like a work of art in his wine bar in Bali. Price per glass: $83,333.
Our Version: 1811An off-dry white wine Sémillon wine with wonderful fresh fruit aromas and flavours of tropical fruit, peach and citrus, accented by floral and spice notes. A terrific sipping wine or aperitif. Enjoy with lightly spiced shrimp and chicken skewers, fresh spring rolls, or poached salmon with lemon dill sauce.
